Duke Tip Program for 7th graders
Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Duke TIP's 7th Grade Talent Search identifies academically talented 7th graders based on standardized test scores achieved while attending elementary or middle school. Candidates are then invited to take the ACT or the SAT as 7th graders, which allows them greater insight into their academic abilities. In addition, they gain valuable benefits and resources for gifted students.
See the website below for more details:

http://www.tip.duke.edu/talent_searches/grade_7/

Students must have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on an accepted subtest or total battery/composite of a grade-level standardized achievement test, aptitude test, mental-ability test, approved state criterion-referenced test OR have a standard score at or above 125 on the full scale or composite score on an IQ test that is no more than two years old. Scores from either of the two most recent test administrations are accepted. For most 7th grade students this represents scores from either the 6th grade or the 5th grade.

Students need to qualify in only one of the acceptable composite or subtest areas.
On the ARMT 2011-2012, the qualifying scores are as follows:

ARMT Reading: Must have a 722 or above
ARMT Math; Must have a 718 or above

(ARMT Home Reports will be sent home attached to Progress Reports on September 18.)
