My name is Janie Jones. I am a wife and mother of two children and two dogs, who are all spoiled! My son, Carson, is in the first grade. My (adopted) daughter Madison has just turned 16, yikes! Madison came to our home when she was 14; she came from a very difficult home-life. My husband and I are currently her legal guardians. She has certainly blossomed since being in a stable and loving home. As a family, we attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church and all take martial arts classes together (Tang Soo Do), which has created great bonding time for us.
As for my career, I have been teaching for 16 years in a middle school, Language Arts classroom. I have taught seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. I know some say it is "messy" in the middle, but I believe the middle is very important to creating great young men and women. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn Montgomery, and my world began! Through the years, I have earned a Master’s degree from Auburn Montgomery in Secondary Language Arts. Then I became National Board Certified. After that, I earned an Ed.S and PhD from The University of Alabama in Educational and Instructional Leadership with focus in Technology. In 2019, I was named Teacher of the Year for Prattville Junior High School and Autauga County.
I am also Prattville Junior High School's National Junior Beta Club sponsor. Please email me if you have questions or interests in the club.
