PJHS Virtual Parent

Need help navigating Schoology? Click below for Parent Workshops held on Friday, October 2nd @ 11:00 am and noon.

These workshops are designed to help parents navigate the new learning platform including Schoology / Schools PLP. Over the past couple weeks, we have learned some of the trouble spots and some solutions to help us all through this process. We will discuss the organization of materials, how to submit assignments, etc. This is a hands-on workshop with Q/A.

Chromebooks will be provided for demonstrations during the workshop.

The workshop will be held in a classroom. Masks are required for participation. Please report to the front lobby to sign in at the front counter. Parents will then need to report to the Room number assigned. A distance of at least six feet between people will be maintained throughout the workshop. The workshop will last no more than an hour. Only ONE parent per student.
Once you choose a time, it eliminates the spot in that class. Please write down your time and room number as you may not receive a confirmation email. Some sessions will also be recorded so we can post them for future reference.

9-15-2020 VIRTUAL Callout

This week has definitely been better than last week as we work together to learn Schoology.  Thank you for working with us to navigate this process.

All assignments will be on Schoology and will be due each week by Sunday at midnight.  A new work plan will be posted on Monday.  Even if teachers have work organized in folders (designed to help students stay on track), all work is due Sunday at midnight.  Please remember our virtual teachers have normal school hours to return calls, emails, etc.

School Yearbook pictures will be on Wednesday, Sept 23.  Virtual students may have their picture taken in the gym from 8:30am-2:00pm.  You may park and enter on the gym side.

Wednesday, Sept 16 from 10:00am-2:00pm and Thursday from 10:00am-noon, virtual students can come to the front lobby to vote for Homecoming court.  For security reasons, voting must occur in person.

Virtual teachers will host another Instagram Live Thursday at noon.  Our account is @catspjhs.  We will likely host weekly sessions for the next month or so for parents and students.

Again, thank you for your partnership.  Although not perfect, your questions are helping us build a better virtual program for our students.  Have a great day and as always.....GO CATS!!!

9-15-2020 Callout for ALL students

On Friday, PJHS will observe eLearning as part of the ACBOE calendar.  Teachers will begin giving these online assignments on Wednesday to help students through the process.  We have posted a list of places the ACBOE is providing wifi hot spots along with the login information on the website.  We will also provide traditional students a hard copy of this information.

On Wednesday, traditional students will receive their Schoology letter with the parent code for access to student classes and to link multiple children.  Virtual parents can pick up their letter during HOCO voting times (Wednesday from 10:00-2:00 and Thursday from 10:00-noon) OR they may pick them up during normal school hours beginning September 21st.

We will also give traditional students a form for INOw Parent Portal.  The form is also on the website.  Please follow the instruction.  This is for traditional and virtual students.

Thank you so much for your partnership and continued support.  Have a great day and as always....GO CATS!!!!

Welcome in various languages

WELCOME to Cat Country!

To those transferring to PJHS from schools other than Daniel Pratt or Prattville Intermediate, we welcome you!!!  I'm sure you have questions in anticipation to moving to a new area.  We invite you to view the Virtual Welcome below to get to know us a little better and to help navigate the website to learn specific information.  Due to Covid-19, we were unable to host our Preview Days as originally scheduled.  We hope to be able to reschedule them for July....stay tuned.  We cannot wait to meet you!

Required paperwork is included below.  Please click on the appropriate grade level for your student.  There are some additional documents to be included.  As we are only taking information remotely at this time, you may email a completed packet (please do not send individual parts at different times to ensure all your documentation stays together due to the volume of requests during this time) to marianne.gamper@acboe.net.

If you have questions, you may call us between 8am-noon at 334-365-6697, option 0.

Paint a PJHS Ceiling Tile

PJHS is offering the opportunity to paint ceiling tiles so students, community members, and businesses can make their mark and be a part of the Tradition of Excellence that is such an integral part of the Cat Legacy.  We encourage our stakeholders to paint a ceiling tile to be installed before school resumes.  These tiles will be placed in the front lobby down to the Student Center.

We encourage our stakeholders to share their creativity to honor the TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE of PJHS over the past 50+ years or to share a positive encouragement for our students.  Businesses may also advertise on tiles.

Artwork tiles are $40
Business advertisement tiles are $100
All tiles are 2 ft x 4 ft.
PJHS accepts cash or checks.  Businesses may receive a receipt for tax purposes.

Tiles must be of a positive nature - no negativity, profanity, controversy, politics, etc.  Advertisements must be consistent with the mission of PJHS.  While we respect individuality, PJHS does reserve the right not to display a tile (with a refund of money).

Donations from these tiles will be used for student technology (i.e., Chromebooks), STEM supplies (i.e., 3-D printers and supplies), and positive messaging throughout the school (i.e., banners, bathroom stall covers, etc).
