Prattville Junior High School BETA Club

Forms for joining Beta Club at PJHS will be included in each student's homeroom packets that will be sent home August 6, 2019.

What is Beta Club?

Beta Club is a club that honors students for their academic achievement, character, leadership and service. To be eligible for Beta Club, students must have all A’s & B’s. Students must also complete 20 service hours throughout the school year. PJHS Beta participates in state convention each year. The students have the option to attend a three-day field trip where they compete in numerous categories academically and creatively. PJHS Beta brings home awards each year!

How does a student join?

If the student meets the criteria above, he or she may join immediately. If a student has been a part of Beta in a previous year either at PJHS or at another school (including Daniel Pratt, PES, or PIS), he or she only needs to pay the school’s club fee of $20 to remain an active member. If the student has never been a part of Beta, he or she may join for the first time for $35 (school’s fee $20 + $15 National Fee). Fees must be paid no later than September 6. Please be sure to complete the attached form.

If you are paying to become a member or staying active:

Complete the attached form and place your money and the form in an envelope labelled with your first and last name.

Writing a check:

Please be sure the student’s name, correct address, and a phone number are on all checks. Payable to PJHS.

What is convention and do I have to go to be a part of Beta?

Convention is held in Birmingham, AL from February 19-21, 2020. This is a fun time for Beta members to bond and compete together. More specific convention information will be given during a meeting at school, but some important dates are:  First payment for convention will be due October 9 to reserve a spot. Convention parent meeting will be held October 24 at 5:30 pm.

How do I stay connected?

Beta Club’s main way of communicating is through Remind. (see information below). Remind sends out a text message of information. Beta also communicates through morning and afternoon announcements at school. Beta also holds meetings once a month. Please listen to announcements for those meeting dates.
