I obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham from the College of Education with a focus in the Social Sciences, particularly British history. In December 2017, I completed my M. Ed. in Teacher Leadership in Curriculum and Instruction – Media Literacies from the University of Florida. Go Gators! In May 2018, I began course work towards my Ph. D. in History Education at Auburn University. I am an Alabama History Day Master Teacher and the 2020 Alabama Nominee for the National History Day Junior Division Patricia Behring Award. I was awarded Prattville Junior High School Teacher of the Year 2019-2020. I currently live in the tri-county area with my two Westies, Windsor and Pippa, and our class bunny, Lilibet.
History has always interested me. I have learned to combine my passion for history with my love to travel. I have visited many national historical sites as well as numerous ones in Europe. My motto for teaching history is a quote from historian and educator David McCullough, "[n]o harm's done to history by making it something someone would want to read". I look forward to making this a fun and exciting year for your student at Prattville Junior High School. Go Cats!
