Bio
Education I graduated from Wilson High School in Florence, Alabama in 2004. I attended Auburn University at Montgomery, receiving my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education of English Language Arts in 2011. I then went on to earn my master's degree from AUM in 2015 as well. Currently, I am thrilled to be pursuing my National Board Certification in Teaching.

Experience I completed my internship at Prattville Junior High School, so I have always been a "Cat" at heart. (Go Cats!) This is my seventh year teaching at PJHS, but I still get excited to meet my new students each year. It never ceases to amaze me how they learn and grow as people each year. |
I grew up in Columbus, Indiana and moved to the great state of Alabama my junior year of high school. I have always loved literature and theatre and had a unusual appreciation for English grammar, so it was only natural that I pursue a career teaching English. I met my husband in college in Montgomery, and we now have a contemplative little girl in fifth grade, a precocious boy in third grade, a vivacious four-year-old boy, and two nosy cats. We stay busy, but we love every chaotic minute. When I am not teaching, planning, or grading, I am playing with my children, reading, making something, crocheting, or baking. I have been told that I can be dramatic and tell corny jokes, so my students will have to kindly bear with me in those departments. I have high expectations of my students and myself, and I know that this will be a great year if we can live up to those expectations together! |
