Education

Hello,

My name is LaShonda Woods Houser and I am so excited about teaching your child this school year!  I am a native of Prattville. I attended Prattville Primary, Elementary and Intermediate Schools.  I moved to Montgomery after completing fifth grade at Prattville Intermediate School.  I graduated from Carver High School.

I am a highly qualified graduate of Auburn Montgomery with a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education, and a certified Reading Teacher for grades K-12.  From Auburn Montgomery, I also have a Master's Degree in Secondary Special Education. In addition, I have a current pursuit at the doctoral level in Instructional Leadership & Supervision.  Last but not least, I have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development which I received from Trenholm State Technical College.

Experience

I have taught both 7th and 8th graders here at PJHS for the past nine years.  In addition, I've taught 6th grade at Prattville Intermediate School for seven years.  Prior to receiving my teaching degree I worked for nine years at the Learning Tree Child Development Center and served as an assistant director for the last three years of employment. I was also employed for three years by Autauga County Board of Education as a Special Education Aide and two years as a Substitute Teacher.  As an aide, I serviced the TMH, ED, and SLD classes and received many hours of professional training.

Bio

Outside of work at Prattville Junior High School I spend my time with my family. My husband, Willie Houser, is a loving and caring husband and father. He's a retired firefighter and is currently employed as a MEDIC.  We have two handsome sons, Cameron and Clinton.  Cameron is a graduate of Auburn University & Clinton is an 8th grader at Saint James School.  What a joy it is to have a wonderful husband and two great children!

Again, I am looking forward to teaching your child and to having a very
productive year!

Yours truly,

Mrs. Houser
